Consumer Guide to Ohio Hospital Quality EHCO created the Consumer Guide to Ohio Hospital Quality as a tool to help healthcare consumers make informed decisions when selecting a facility for care. This report compares hospitals in the state of Ohio against the average performance of all hospitals on three key indicators of quality: mortality rates, complication rates, and the rate at which hospitals are able to prevent the occurrence of a complication from evolving into a death (also called failure to rescue). In addition to these outcome measures, the Guide also includes process of care measures (information about how good hospitals are at implementing nationally accepted treatment guidelines as compared to their peers throughout the country).
