InSight Data Warehouse: Data Analysis and Benefit Design Consultation
When employers have access to their data, they can make better decisions about future benefit offerings and employee health initiatives. By contracting with OptumHealth, Employers Health warehouses data, reviews the data and reports back on the findings, paving the way for overall health improvement and savings. Reports in aggregate form are another benefit, providing a snapshot of all participating members and helping to frame a roadmap for future program and resource offerings. Participating members are invited to engage in quarterly discussions faciliated by staff on specific topics that are found to be predominant among the aggregate population. This provides an opportunity to look closely at the data and begin to understand possible solutions to improve things like utilization and outcomes.
-
Expertise: Employers Health staff includes a pharmacist, physician, and data analyst, working one-on-one with each employer to assist with benefit design changes and determine target areas for improvement.
-
Innovation: Quarterly meetings to discuss results, possible strategies, and ideas for vendor summits. Participants also have the opportunity to attend user group meetings and quarterly focus groups to "share and compare" best practice information with other participating member organizations.
-
Cost Savings: Data warehouse participants have the advantage of group purchasing power, especially for those who participate in the PBM or medical program. This allows for large cost discounts and services at a reduced fee.
-
Benchmarking: A snapshot of aggregate data from all participating members can be used to evaluate provider performance much more effectively than data from a single employer. Benchmarks can be based upon data warehouse averages and standards, the OptumHealth book of business, and also by industry. The data help participating members frame action steps for future programs and resource offerings.
